A good chunk of this also caters to their need to portray themselves in a certain way on social media. A major chunk of these adornments are either unaffordable or impractical to create tangibly.

It can be deduced that filters are features of applications that allow individuals to play around with various images, and more importantly, their perception of self.
1. Digital Self: Research on the digital self suggests that users often customize their digital self to present a desired image. Filters can be used to enhance or modify this image.
2. Filter Usage and User Behavior: Engagement and Virality: Studies on filter usage have shown that filters can increase engagement and virality on social media platforms. This may explain the popularity of accessory-based filters that are often used in viral trends.
